Hair salons
Booking software for hair salons
OnTime runs a salon's week: each service booked for its real length, clients booking from Instagram or WhatsApp, a reminder the day before, and the colour formula on file for next time.
Services that take the time they take
A trim takes half an hour. Box braids can take the whole afternoon. You give each service its own length, and OnTime only offers times where the whole service fits inside your opening hours, never across the lunch break.
| Service | Length you might set |
|---|---|
| Women's cut and blow-dry | 60 min |
| Men's cut | 30 min |
| Root colour | 90 min |
| Box braids | 5 h |
| Silk press | 2 h |
| Children's cut | 20 min |
Long services like braids or a full colour are often better agreed over the phone first. Take them off the booking page and keep the short ones bookable online.
Bookings from Instagram and WhatsApp
Most salon clients find you on Instagram and ask on WhatsApp. Put your booking link in both places. The client picks a service and a time, you accept the request, and the appointment lands in the right stylist's column.
If several stylists work the floor, each has an agenda and the client can choose. Someone who asks for Aïcha sees Aïcha's free times, not the whole salon's.

Reminder: appointment with Aicha tomorrow Oct 18 at 2:00 PM. OnTime Click here to cancel: on-time.pro/a/Rk4mW2qZ8d
The reminder goes out at noon the day before. A client who can't come cancels from the link, and the afternoon slot goes back on your booking page instead of sitting empty. Texts reach clients in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and 32 European countries. How reminders work.
On the dashboard, mark the clients who didn't turn up. After a few weeks you know your no-show rate and roughly what it costs the salon.
The client record a stylist needs
Create the fields your salon uses, and the next stylist who sees the client has the formula in front of them without asking.
- Hair type as a dropdown: straight, wavy, curly, coily.
- The colour formula as free text.
- A yes or no for the allergy test, and a date field for when it was done.
With a Documents pack you can add before-and-after photos to the client record.
What OnTime doesn't do for a salon
- It doesn't sell products or run a till. Payment stays at your counter.
- Clients pay nothing when they book.
- There's no marketplace listing. Clients reach you through your own link, not a directory that shows your competitors next to you.
